Opportunities and challenges of AI-supported assistance systems in corporate learning processes
When it comes to implementing the new opportunities created by digitalization, employees are a success factor for companies that should not be underestimated. Therefore, the role of AI-supported assistance systems in supporting learning processes is becoming more important than ever.
The research results of the members of the Academic Society for Work and Industrial Organization (WGAB e.V.) presented in the latest conference proceedings take up the problem of an increasingly digitalized workplace and deal with its effects on employees under the main heading of "Competence development and learning assistance systems for the data-driven future".
In their contribution entitled "Competence development and learning assistance systems for the data-driven future", Univ. Prof. Dr.-Ing. Norbert Gronau and Dr. rer. pol. Gergana Vladova from the Chair of Business Informatics, Processes and Systems, deal with the opportunities and limitations of cognitive assistance systems in corporate learning processes.
Both in the training phase and in the active work phase, these assistance systems provide employees with tools that support them in adapting to new, digitized value creation processes and a constantly changing work environment by simplifying learning processes. The authors discuss the current state of research on possible applications in terms of support for process mastery, but at the same time point out the limitations of these systems and conclude by identifying focal points for the further development and use of artificial intelligence in this area.
