Mr. Busch's doctoral research focuses on the conception, design and implementation of interventions that aim to support individuals in developing the skills of change agents.
Career
Following his career in international hotel industry Mr. Busch studied to B.Sc. Oecotrophology and M.Sc. Sustainability Science. He developed his expertise in transdisciplinary sustainability research in the Real World Laboratory Lüneburg 2030+, the Transformative Innovation Lab (TIL) of the Wuppertal Institute, the funding programme of the Indo-German Center for Sustainability (IGCS) and his research on intrapersonal motivation of volunteer actors in the temporary play streets of Berlin.
His research includes as follows
- Potentials of the grassroots innovation ecosystem "makerspace" and its niche effect on sociological-technical systems (Gheels 2012).
- Designing and testing interventionist activation formats with the aim of empowering civil society actors to actively participate in participatory formats.
- Real world laboratories as drivers of a sustainability-oriented transformation of society.
